His operational background started with employment as a logging engineer, followed by a position as operations geologist. Later work includes primarily production technology and formation evaluation, but petroleum economics, business development and drilling/completion are also part of his professional background. Morten graduated from Heriot-Watt University in 1987. (offshore/mechanical engineering).
The rock he is presenting here is a fossil of a Cambro-Silurian brachiopod from Greenland. In many areas Brachiopods contribute to the formation of carbonate rocks, which may become reservoirs through alteration processes like karstification and the formation of vuggy porosity. The fossil also represents good memories from a very exciting geological excursion.
