Maria Discovery - Divested

Wintershall Norge ASA concluded in July 2010 the drilling of wildcat well 6406/3-8 on the Maria prospect in PL 475BS. The well is located between the Smoerbukk South field and the Tyrihans North field in the Norwegian Sea, and yielded positive results.

The Wildcat well proved oil with associated gas in Middle Jurassic (Garn Formation) reservoir rocks. According to NPD, recoverable reserves are between 10 and 20 million standard cubic meters of oil ( 63 to 126 million barrels) and 2-5 billion standard cubic meters of gas. 6406/3-8 was terminated in the Lower Jurrasic Tilje Formation at a depth of 4216 meters below sea level.

A likely development solution is a subsea development with tie-in to a nearby field.
